Tom went to university — and became close friends — with one of my best mates from home, and we all just hung out in the same friendship group. But when the pandemic hit, my dad, aged just 64, passed away suddenly from Covid — and my whole world turned upside down. All of my friends were amazing and supportive but Tom stood out.
